FRAUD WITH FAKE MESSAGES - THEY ASK FOR €10 'TO GET' A SOCIAL SECURITY ALLOWANCE

FRAUD WITH FAKE MESSAGES - THEY ASK FOR €10 'TO GET' A SOCIAL SECURITY ALLOWANCE - Filenews 8/4

The Social Security Services warn the public about a fake email sent en masse and falsely presented as a message from the Services themselves.

In a statement on Wednesday, they state that the malicious message misinforms recipients of approval for the payment of an allowance and asks for bank account details for an alleged management fee of €10.

The Social Insurance Services emphasize that they never ask citizens to pay any fee for the approval of an application, while noting that any official communication by email is made only from addresses ending in 'ab@mlsi.gov.cy'.

Finally, they call on those who receive such a message not to open the relevant link and to delete it immediately.
