Pafos Live 17 June 2025

The Cyprus Police, as a member of the European Crime Prevention Network – EUCPN, participates again this year in the Pan-European Week for the Prevention of Burglaries and Thefts – "Focus Day", which will take place from 18 to 24 June 2025, with joint actions from all participating countries.

The aim of the pan-European Week of Action is to inform and raise awareness among citizens about the protection of their homes, especially in view of the summer season, when many of our fellow citizens are absent for holidays.

As part of the Focus Day campaign, but also in general in view of the summer season, the members of the Community Policing, the Neighbourhood Police Officers, in all provinces of Cyprus, carry out public information campaigns, distributing educational material with prevention tips and providing personalized information to citizens.

At the same time, the "The Neighbourhood Observer" program is being strengthened, which is implemented in cooperation between the Police and the Municipalities and Local Authorities, contributing substantially to the prevention and reduction of crime, through the active participation of the citizens themselves.

The focus of the week, with an intensification of information actions, is the 20th of June, a day that has been established as the Pan-European Day for the Prevention of Burglaries and Thefts.

The Cyprus Police, through the continuous cooperation with the European Crime Prevention Network – EUCPN, the local government and society in general, remains firmly committed to the protection of social security and the strengthening of prevention, which is the most effective means of preventing crime.
