The Tax Department has set up a mechanism to monitor social networks, according to a report in the Brief. Advertising luxury parties and vacations, cars, money and other forms of wealth on Social Media can send the Tax to your home.
This is because, according to what the Brief learns, the Tax Department has set up a mechanism that monitors Social Networks and the "advertised" riches posted on them.
However, it is a fact that this question, i.e. whether people who promote and advertise their wealth on Social Networks are controlled, has occasionally preoccupied citizens, who see in posts known or not indulging in a race of sensationalism and opulence.
In fact, according to the same information, the Tax Department has already proceeded with checks on individuals who advertised their wealth on Social Networks to verify whether this enrichment corresponds to the income and property that these individuals had declared to the Income Tax.
The Commissioner of Taxation, Sotiris Markides, asked by the Brief to comment on the above, confirmed our information.
"We have a mechanism that monitors social networks and where necessary we proceed with controls, as has already been done," Markides said.
