THE OPEN WORKSHOPS OF PHYTHKIOTIKOS YFANTOS ARE A SUCCESS
The open workshops of Phythkiotikos in 7 cottage industries were successfully completed the day before yesterday in the Phytis community which were organized and promoted by the Company of Tourism Development and Promotion of the Paphos Region, the Association of Immigrants, the Phytis Community Council and received support from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
The workshops were held from July 6 to August 18, 2024, each Saturday and Sunday Between the hours of 09:30-13:30 and it is estimated that over 300 people visited the workshops. Additionally about 1000 foreigners and locals visited the community during that period because of the events that were held on August 10 and 15 but also due to the strong visibility that benefited the community from the ETAP campaign.
Visitors during their tour of the community had the opportunity to visit the Akrikot park, a beautiful point of view and rest, recently renovated with natural running water where a unique monument of nature – the Giant Oak, 800 years old it stands tall. At the same time, several of the visitors toured the church of Agios Dimitrios and rested in the renovated square, enjoying food or drinks from working premises in the center of the community.
ETAP Paphos declares itself satisfied with the result of the effort and the increase in traffic while the further beautification of the community remains high on its agenda, the creation of a model exhibition space for the Phytiotiko textile, the Certification of the textile, as well as its upgrade and accessibility to the community from and to the urban centers of the province.
