Pafos Police arrested a 47-year-old man to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of misrepresentation of goods extraction.
In mid-August, an employee of an electrical goods store in Paphos reported that last February a 47-year-old man had gone to the store and bought various electrical goods worth a total of €1,600 and had paid cheques for their payment relating to a closed bank account.
The 47-year-old, on 25.8.24 was arrested pursuant to a court warrant and a search of his residence found all the items he had taken from the store.
He was subsequently charged in writing and released to be summoned later.

Almost 180 complaints, 179 to be precise, were made over the weekend in Paphos in the context of road traffic collision prevention.
Of the 179 traffic complaints, 5 were for driving under the influence of alcohol, 4 for driving under the influence of drugs, 61 for speeding and the remaining minor traffic offences.

The arrest of a 32-year-old man was made yesterday by the Pafos Police to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of burglary of a residence and possession of burglary tools.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Pafos Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on 25.8.24 at about 14:14 a 32-year-old permanent resident of Pafos was arrested pursuant to a court warrant in connection with an investigated case of burglary of a building with the intention of committing a felony and possession of burglary tools during the night.
The offences were allegedly committed in Paphos on 21.8.24.
Specifically, the person in question allegedly attempted to enter a residence with the intention of committing a felony. According to the police, testimony was secured against him and he was subsequently arrested and detained.

In the context of investigating a case of fighting, which occurred around one after midnight today in an area of Limassol, the Police proceeded to arrest six persons.
These are men aged between 20 and 40 who have been detained to facilitate interrogations, while the offences of fighting and causing alarm are being investigated.

Police arrested three people aged 17, 18 and 19 as part of an investigation into grievous bodily harm.
Specifically, around 2 am on 24/08/2024, information was received by the Police about an injured person in an area of Famagusta district. Members of the Police went to the area, where they located a 17-year-old, who was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where it was found that he suffered a fractured lower jaw and ribs.
The 17-year-old was transferred yesterday 25/08/2024 to Nicosia General Hospital, where he underwent surgery. As part of the investigation, three persons aged 17, 18 and 19 were arrested yesterday on court warrants and detained.

Members of the Ledra Substation, in the context of the traffic police checks they conducted, intercepted yesterday morning, a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man, with a 26-year-old as a passenger.
During the inspection that followed, it was found that the vehicle did not have a valid registration and an extrajudicial fine was issued to the driver. During the delivery of the extrajudicial document to the driver of the vehicle, the member of the Ledra Substation noticed that there was an object at the passenger's feet, which was carefully hidden.
The car was immediately searched and a number of gold items, perfumes, an air gun, an axe, banknotes of various countries and other items were found.
The above persons were arrested for the offense of illegal possession of property, as well as illegal possession and transportation of a firearm.
On the same day, a resident of Nicosia reported to the ICF Nicosia that, between the dates 24-25/8/2024, unknown persons broke into his house and stole various pieces of gold, an air gun and various other items belonging to him and his wife.
The complainants were called and went to the ICF Nicosia offices where they inspected the objects found in the possession of the two arrested persons and identified them as their own property.

Another girl, aged 18, was arrested by the Police, as part of the investigation of a complaint by a 64-year-old man for assault and robbery, last Tuesday, in Limassol. A 15-year-old and 16-year-old are already in custody, while two more people are being sought.
The 18-year-old is alleged to be one of the persons in the car, along with the 15-year-old and two young men, one of whom, according to the complainant, attacked him with spray paint and then punched him in the face, taking away his wallet, which contained a sum of money of €5,000 and his identity card.
The 18-year-old is expected to be brought before a court today for a detention order, in a closed-door procedure, as was done during the process of issuing a detention order for the 15-year-old and 16-year-old.Initially, the 15-year-old, whom the complainant knew and who, as he stated in his testimony, had recently introduced him to the 16-year-old, who visited him in the hotel room, asking him to go to dinner.
After they went to a fast food restaurant, the 16-year-old allegedly asked him to go behind the fast food restaurant to meet with the 15-year-old, where he was assaulted and robbed.

Police arrested another person who allegedly attempted to travel illegally to Piraeus on the ferry of the maritime passenger connection between Cyprus and Greece. She is a 49-year-old asylum seeker who was detained.
This is the fourth incident recorded recently during passport control at Limassol port, before the departure of the passenger ferry M/V Daleela.
According to police, yesterday a 49-year-old woman was arrested, who allegedly presented a Spanish passport, which was registered as stolen according to the Shengen information system, since July 18, in Spain.
It was also determined that the 49-year-old was not the same person as the one in the photo and after being questioned, she gave her real details.
She was arrested for the crime of impersonation and allegedly admitted to committing the offence, claiming that the Spanish passport was bought from Syria.

A 32-year-old mother and her three-year-old daughter were injured in a car accident in Paphos over the weekend.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on 24.8.24 at about 21:40, a 32-year-old woman from Paphos, while driving her car in the area of Tremithousa in the direction of Emba Avenue and having as a passenger in the back seat in a child seat her minor daughter, aged 3, at some point on the road under circumstances that are being investigated, lost control of the vehicle. According to Mr. Nicolaou, the vehicle swerved to the right, went off the road, overturned and came to a stop in a field.
The child - according to the police - was not fastened with a seat belt to the child seat and was ejected from the vehicle.
The mother and the little girl were injured in the collision and were taken to Paphos General Hospital. The 32-year-old underwent a narcotest test and reportedly tested positive. The little girl was transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia where she is being held until today for treatment.
The 32-year-old was discharged from Paphos General Hospital and accompanies the little girl to Makarios Hospital.
The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Paphos Traffic Police.

A hunter was spotted hunting in a restricted area in the Simou area on Sunday, at the start of the hunting season.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on August 25, at around 17:30, members of the Game Service, who were patrolling the road leading to Simou village, spotted a 47-year-old man hunting in a prohibited area.
Nicolaou said his shotgun, cartridges and four freshly killed birds were received. An extrajudicial fine was expected to be issued against him.

Paphos Police arrested a 24-year-old man for an investigation into illegal possession of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs and stealing a motorcycle.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on 25.8.24 at 23:15, members of the Pafos Crime Prevention Unit were on patrol when they stopped a motorcycle driven by a 24-year-old person for inspection.
During the ensuing search, he was allegedly found in possession of 11 grams of cannabis, a quantity of a crystal substance resembling methamphetamine weighing 1.5 grams and 6 grams of white powder resembling cocaine.
The 24-year-old was reportedly found positive in a narcotest test and handed over to the YKAN for further investigation.
From examinations carried out, Mr. Nicolaou said, it was found that the motorcycle was stolen from Germasogeia and he was also arrested for the offense of theft and illegal possession of property.

Yesterday he was faced with a very unpleasant situation, when he was informed by family and friends that his residence was targeted by burglars. In addition to the items stolen from it and for which investigations continue, the emigrant owner experienced another unpleasant surprise, since all three cars he maintains there were stolen by burglars.



He, from the distant country of Scandinavia, and other people from the community reported the burglary and thefts to the Police and a team of the Pafos Police Department went to the scene to start the examinations.
The victim of the burglary and theft, who claims to be a daily reader of "F" from the country where he lives, contacted the newspaper and announced that he offers a reward of €1,000 to anyone who helps identify the perpetrators. He also sent photographs of his three vehicles in order to help solve the case.
