Pafos Live 31 January 2024
The Pafos Department of Road Transport has informed the public that as of 1/2/2024 the Pafos Motor Vehicle Centre will not operate for inspection purposes of government, disabled and military vehicles.
Interested parties will go for inspection of these vehicles to the Limassol Inspection Department. The MP and Vice-President of DIKO, Mr. Chrysanthos Savvides, following many complaints from those affected, asked for immediate information on the matter and regretfully noted that the public Technical Inspection Centre for Vehicles of the Department of Road Transport in Paphos is closing because the hourly paid assistant technicians responsible for the inspection of army vehicles have retired and have not been replaced. disabled vehicles and government vehicles (trucks, buses, etc.). At the same time, TOM remains understaffed as only two cash registers operate daily, resulting in long queues, especially in case one of the two employees has to leave his position to carry out external work.
Although some time ago Mr. Savvides asked the Department of Public Administration to deal with the above issues, absolutely nothing has been done so far.
