The Ministry of Defence announces that as of January 2, 2024 at 12:00, the new electronic platform will be operational for the submission of data of those who have reached or completed the 16th year of age within the current year [born in 2008].
The platform will remain operational until 30 September 2024 at 00:00 and interested parties are invited to fill in the relevant declaration.
It is noted that, according to the National Guard Law, this is a mandatory procedure for those who reach the age of 16.
The same legislation also provides that "whoever fails to submit the declaration of data, or submits it late, or enters inaccurate information in it, or submits inaccurate supporting documents, commits an offence and, in case of conviction, is liable to imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months or to a fine not exceeding one thousand euros (€1.000.00) or to both of these penalties".
It is also emphasized that those young people who do not proceed with the submission of their details will not be able to issue an exit permit in order to travel outside Cyprus.
