At Pafos Hospital there are several problems both in terms of its staffing and its building and logistical needs. As a result, many patients, especially the elderly, face severe discomfort in their service.
This was pointed out in his representations to the Minister of Health by the Member of Parliament for Pafos of EDEK, Elias Myrianthous, who referred specifically to deficiencies in the specialties of neurologist, endocrinologist and oncologist, as well as to serious problems of building infrastructure in the Nephrology Unit, which need immediate resolution, as well as problems in the Cardiology Unit due to the lack of equipment.
In response to Mr. Myrianthous, the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipantelas, mentions that Paphos Hospital is visited once a week by an oncologist, who according to the number of patients fully covers the needs of the Hospital, while the same applies to the endocrinologist, who visits the Hospital once a week.
"Regarding the medical equipment in all the Clinics of the Hospital, including the Department of Cardiology, the requests have been submitted, the prioritization of needs has been made and they are being promoted for purchase", he stresses. "For the Dialysis Unit, work has begun and the completion of the project is expected in 15 months."
