A coordinated forced return operation of 15 nationals of the Democratic Republic of the Congo took place on January 19, 2022.
Specifically, on the above date, a plane chartered by the Belgian authorities arrived at Larnaka airport, which would carry back to their country the above 15 persons. These persons were detained in Cyprus after they had entered illegally the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
The operation, which was supervised and coordinated by all those involved by the Deputy Commander of Operations of the Aliens and Immigration Service, was also attended by members of the Aliens Service of the Belgian authorities as well as of the FRONTEX agency.
