Almost 500 cases of traffic violations were detected and reported during traffic checks carried out by members of the Police, namely the OPO, the Special Ulamos Motorcyclists, the Avdimos Team and the Control Engineer.
More specifically, from 6 a.m. today until 6 p.m. today, a total of 37 drivers were reported for exceeding the speed limit, 102 persons for not using a seat belt, 63 drivers for using a mobile phone while driving, 23 drivers whose vehicles did not have a certificate of suitability, 43 drivers for driving without a registration certificate, 100 drivers for improper use of tachographs, as well as seven drivers whose vehicles were written off or declared to be immobilized. There were also a further 112 complaints about various traffic offences.
The coordinated and targeted traffic control of the Police continues, in an effort to consolidate the road consciousness and the sense of responsibility towards the users of the road network.
