As the Authority for the determination of national limits of exposure of the public to electromagnetic fields of radio frequencies, always in accordance with the guidelines of the Council of the European Union, the Ministry of Health has set up an Expert Task Force on non-ionizing radiation issues.
The team, which held its first meeting yesterday, November 17th, consists of Officers of the Medical and Public Health Services of the Ministry of Health, representatives of the Cyprus Ministry of Health, members of the Pancyprian Medical Association (PIS), academics, representatives of the Association of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering of Cyprus, and representatives of the Department of Electronic Communications of the Ministry of Transport.
The aim of the group is to study data and exchange views and know-how, with the aim of solving problems, protecting public health, and providing the public with proper and valid information on issues of non-ionizing radiation.
